My Focus Areas
Curriculum and Instruction
I am passionate about curriculum and planning for instruction. As a member of the board, I would advocate for research based, rigorous, and individualized curricula that meet the needs of each one of our students. In order for our curriculum to be effective, I will also advocate for the needs of our teachers, which include time to plan and collaborate, meaningful professional development, and all the tools and resources they need to supplement their instruction.
Communication and Transparency
Our community deserves to have open and transparent communication from the board and leadership. As a board member, I would strive to remain as transparent as possible with our community and stakeholders. The strategic plan will be a great opportunity to highlight and improve upon our communication standards and foster collaboration between the district and families.
Student Services and Programs
As a board member, I will remember that every decision we make has a direct impact on our students. We can make responsible decisions while protecting each student's access to the supports and services they need and the vital programs that help nurture their creativity extending beyond the classroom.
